We grow our vegetables naturally and organically, however, we are not certified as an organic farm. We believe in using Heirloom seeds as often as possible and many of our plants were developed in the 1800's.
We do not use any weed or bug killer on our plants or store bought fertilizer. We do a lot of companion planting and when done right there are seldom any "icky" bugs in the garden. We compost our bedding, kitchen waste, lawn clippings, etc., and use that as fertilizer on our garden. It provides wonderful nutrients and does not contain any harmful additives. Our vegetables can be eaten in the garden! This year we have added one hive of bees as well!
Shares are either picked up at the farm weekly or at one of our drop sites. If you are interested in hosting a drop site, please contact us.
Shares are packaged in a reusable plastic crate. A full share the box typically holds 10-25# of produce per week depending on what is in season and what conditions are like that we have no control over. We can weed and water the garden but can't protect it from tornado, hail, flood and other acts of God.
Full share too large? Much of this can be stored--either canned, frozen, or dried. Or you can share your share with a friend or neighbor!
Shares:
Full Share Share includes what is harvested weekly, average from 10# to 25# a week depending on what is in season.
Small Share Share includes what is harvested weekly, average from 5-15# per week depending on what is in season.
Build your own CSA You decide what you want in your box each week. Limited shares available. Every week an e-mail will be sent out with what is available and the cost. You can decide what to purchase.
